Tamiya is delighted to announce that the 1997 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR is now paired with the TC-01 chassis.
The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR car took six wins in dominating the 1997 FIA GT Championship. Although inheriting the 2-door coupe form and front section of its base road car, it was actually vastly different. It used a carbon composite monocoque frame with roll cage, a rear 6-liter V12 engine capable of over 600hp, and 6-speed sequential transmission. Its 4-wheel double wishbone suspension featured front and rear pull-rod setups. In the same year, this car took both Manufacturer’s and Driver’s Championships.
