The FF drivetrain Golf is one of Volkswagen’s most iconic cars. From its first appearance in 1974, the Volkswagen Golf has continued to develop and lead the worldwide compact car class. In 1986, the Golf II GTI 16V was added to the second-generation model Golf II lineup which had made its debut in 1983. With a 1,781cc inline-4 DOHC 16-valve engine, a tuned car took part in global rally races, in 1986 becoming class champion.

This R/C model assembly kit recreates that car, with the iconic form captured by a polycarbonate body and separate parts for headlight cases plus side mirrors. Stickers are included to add further detail to the body.

The MB-01 Chassis
The compact, 2WD MB-01 chassis gives a choice of three types of wheelbase, and front- or rear- wheel drive system. This model employs a front-wheel drive setup. Without removing battery pack, motor and R/C equipment setups from the center frame, simply change attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front- and rear-wheel drive; low or high motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars.

The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Unitized sections such as motor mount, final gears and suspension facilitate ease of assembly and effective maintenance.

The iconic Golf form is captured in style, with a meticulously detailed polycarbonate body that faithfully replicates the unmistakable lines and sporty character of the original Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16V.   Every curve, vent, and contour is brought to life, ensuring this 1/10 scale model stands out both on the shelf and on the track	The front bumper is crafted as a separate molded part for added realism and depth, enhancing the authentic look of the model.   Additionally, the headlights are designed to accommodate LED units (sold separately), allowing hobbyists to bring their Golf II GTI 16V to life with functional lighting for an even more dynamic display	The distinctive blocky side mirrors, true to the original Golf II GTI 16V design, are carefully recreated to match the car’s angular aesthetic.   To enhance realism, each mirror includes a dedicated sticker that replicates the reflective surface, giving the model an authentic and polished appearance from every angle.
Just like the front, the rear of the model is packed with authentic details — the taillights are designed to be compatible with separately sold LED units, allowing for realistic illumination.   The rear bumper is also molded as a separate part, enhancing the model’s depth and accurately capturing the layered construction of the real Golf II GTI 16V	Classic dish-style wheels are paired with treaded 60D radial tires, delivering a realistic look and performance-inspired stance.   To complete the iconic appearance, stickers are included to replicate the Golf’s signature black fender arches, adding contrast and enhancing the model’s vintage rally-inspired aesthetic.	The compact and versatile MB-01 chassis serves as the foundation for this model, offering excellent adaptability and performance.   For the Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16V, it comes pre-assembled in a long wheelbase configuration measuring 239mm, perfectly suited to replicate the proportions and stance of the real vehicle while ensuring stable handling and smooth cornering on the track.

The compact MB-01 chassis. Wheelbase: 209mm (S) / 224mm (M) / 239mm (L) depending on the model	The servo is installed in the right-rear of the model and moves the steering linkage via a link rod.	The four-wheel double wishbone suspension uses symmetrical arms.
Coil sprung dampers come as standard, although you can upgrade them with M-Chassis aluminum dampers if you wish.	The motor mount is assembled as a unit and secured to the chassis using two screws.	The 4-bevel gear differential is the same as that on the TT-02; this chassis is compatible with TT-02 Hop-Up Option differentials.
